Our 16A squad travelled to the Dragons Den in Killorglin for an early Saturday morning kickoff with a few absentees due to illness , injuries & school trips.
Nevertheless we created all the chances in the first half but only converting one from TJ McMahon. The Killorglin keeper was in fine form denying first TJ then a fine double save stopping Nathan Holden’s shot from point blank range. So after dominating the first half we only had a goal to show for all our good play.

Within five minutes of the restart John Carmody had struck a left legged rocket inside the post to double our lead.
Following more good play, Darragh Moriarty took the ball down controlled it & hit an unstoppable shot into the far top corner for what will surely be a goal of the season contender. Game over with thirty minutes to play or so we thought !!
Another top quality save again from a Darragh Moriarty goal bound shot seem to bring the Killorglin boys to life & they threw everything at us for the remainder of the game.
A defensive mix up led to their goal & when we conceded a penalty for a hand ball shortly after it looked like another Ballyhar was on the cards. Up stepped Stephen Nix, our new keeper, from that famous Tralee sporting family to dive to his right & palm away the peno to ease the nerves. Despite a few missed chances at the other end & a couple more scares we saw out the final minutes for a much needed win.
Full time 3 – 1
Best for Park, Darragh Moriarty, Colin Walsh, John Carmody & MotM Andrew Murphy.
