On a glorious day for football the Park A lads played a steady game, dominating in most sections of the field, slick passing and a gritty 2nd half performance gave them another 5-1 win to take the full 3 points.

U14 Park A Team who won 5 - 1 at home to Killarney Celtic B

1st Half

The park lads continued on from their 2nd half performance against camp and started to dominate the match from the kick off. Eoin, Kiwi and Deano were linking up very well on the left and you could sense something was going to happen from this side of the field and on the 5 min mark they were rewarded with their good movement a through ball from Eoin found deano in space who in turn laid it off to Kiwi, kiwi took on the celtic defence bringing the ball to the end line and with a fine cross, from a tight angle to gearoid, a side footed half volley and it was 1-0 to the home side.

The park were creating several chances and it looked as if they were going to have a goal fest but credit to the killarney goalkeeper and their defence it took a further 20 mins before the park struck again, a long range shot from Fitzy in which the keeper failed to deal with, parring up into the roof of the net. 2-0 up and thing looked good for the park lads as they drove forward for more goals and what a reward they got with a peach of a goal on the 30 min mark, in a 30 second period from start to finish the ball was in the Celtic net, this was no long ball to the front men, but a fine lobbed kick out from Eoghan into midfield, Kiwi flicked it on with percission to Dylan, with a first time pass he found deano who delivered a sublime pass to the feet of the in coming gearoid who side footed past the keeper, definite contender for goal of the season!

2nd Half

3-0 up and just after the break it was time to give the subs a chance Tom came in for Fitzy and Owen came off the bench for Harry. The park lads came out a bit lack lustre in the 2nd half and didnt seem to get going until 15 mins into the half when a goal mouth scramble from a corner resulted in a goal for Dylan 4-0 up and it looked ominous for the visitors, but they battled on and were rewarded with a penalty which was confidently struck home despite the efforts of Eoghan between the sticks to make it 4-1.

The game failed to have any spark after that with the Park lads creating a few good chances with a couple of strikes outside the box from Kiwi which were saved by the keeper and a glorious one on one chance from Conor struck wide.

The final goal came in the dying minutes, again from a goal mouth scramble in which Kiwi ran the ball over the line, 5- 1 the final score.

A good steady performance by the lads with our pass and move game was effective, could have capitalised more on a few good chances but that will come with a bit more shooting practice at training!!
