This was going to be toughest test this Season for this squad playing one of the best teams in Kerry at this age group in their own backyard.
The 1st half we struggled to get to grips with the pace of the game, we didnt seem to use our pass and move game to great effect and tended to panic on the ball showing Killarney too much respect and as a result within 20 mins the scoreline was pleak 3-0 down, all goals coming from set pieces, but we eventually started to settle down and had a couple of half chances but were unable to break through a well organised defence. 5 mins to halftime another goal conceded, 4- 0 at the break.
The 2nd half was a different story with nothing to lose we started to attack the ball and our passing game started to pay off as the lads started to control the game, defending with great steely determination. unfortunately we failed to deal with another set piece and Killarney bundled the ball over the line from a corner kick to make it 5- 0. Fair play to the The park lads the heads never went down and they battled on to grow in confidence and pushed forward to start creating some good chances with Jacob denied twice by the keeper and Kiwi failing to latch on to a great through ball, unfortunately the lads were unable to capitalise on their great play and at the final whistle it was 5-0.
The result may seem a one sided affair but credit to the lads for the 2nd half performance and the manner in which we passed and moved the ball which was acknowledged and praised by the killarney management team.
To quote the referee “the better technical team lost and the more Physical team won” which is a great confidence booster.

Important challenge games coming up and Final League Title game in 2 weeks time so attendence by all squad members at training is vital for the success of the team!
