On Saturday we played Killorglin in our last match of the league fixtures. This game was of big importance as a win or draw would keep our chances of finishing top of the table. As it turned out we ended the gamed with a draw 1 goal each.

The first half saw a high tempo game with us playing the better soccer and giving greater effort all over the field.

After the break we had a great effort by Leon just sail wide of the goals. Our effort was rewarded early in the half with a spectacular strike from Poga from 30 yards out.

As the game neared the end Killorglin got on top and grabbed an equaliser after some confusion in our box. Killorglin pushed hard and had us under pressure for  a long time. However we dug in and stopped them from scoring probably something they deserved. Great credit must be giving to all our players for their super work ethic.

The final few seconds saw Killorglin earn a corner that saw their goalkeeper in our penalty area as they needed to win. Once more we defended well then broke to try and snatch a late winner only to see Poga’s 60 yard effort role heartbreakingly wide.

Best on the day were Conor H, James S, Craig, JR, with Poga earning a well deserved Man Of The Match award.

This hard earned draw now sees us clash with Killarney Celtic next Saturday at 2pm in  Mounthawk Park.

Well done to both teams today in what was a very entertaining game. Well done also to every player in our squad for earning the right to play again next week.

We will train Monday 6:30-7:30.

The management and team would like to offer their sympathies to the family of Craig O Brien on the sad passing of his grandmother.
