The Under 11’s continued their fine unbeaten run with a hard earned 3-3 draw in Killorglin on Saturday morning last. Conditions were almost perfect on a dry bright morning. The Killorglin lads were quick off the mark and caused lots of problems for the Park defence during the early stages of the match. Park’s Sean Broderick was called upon to make some excellent saves. The home sides’ early dominance was rewarded as they went 2-0 up within the first 15 minutes. The Park lads knew they were in a match and responded by playing some great passing football.

Martin Laucher pulled a goal back when he latched on a cross from the left wing. Within 10 minutes it was all square when Leon O’Shea scored with a terrific free kick. However, Killorglin responded really well and got their noses in front before halftime by scoring from a header at the back post.

Half time Killorglin 3, Park A 2.

Park A started the second half brightly with Armin Heinrich and Leon O’Shea linking the play well in midfield and getting the ball out to the wingers at every opportunity. Killorglin were also very dangerous on the counter attack and the game ebbed and flowed. Park A’s persistence was rewarded midway through the second half when a Graham Sheehy strike was deflected off a Killorglin defender and into the net. This proved to be the final goal of a terrific game with both sides giving 100 percent up to the final whistle. So a well deserved draw for the Park lads who are improving all the time and are playing some excellent football.
