Listowel Celtic were the visitors this week to Christy Leahy Park with the under 6/7 & 8 getting some action. The younger lads played each other on the all weather with brothers Sam & Jack Slattery playing fantastic in midfield Amr Abdalla keeping a clean sheet between the sticks & Adam Sheehan, Tadhg Moran, Simon Lukco & Tiernan O Sullivan giving a rock solid desplay at the back. Sean Heaslip stood out for Richie Conways team giving a Man of the Match performance.
The older U8’s headed for the grass pitches with shots, tackles & saves aplenty. Venis Jahiri was as usual his tough tackling self, Odhran Ferris found the net & ran the lenght of the pitch to celebrate, Sean Moynihan cleared off the line & Rory Locke/Clifford blocked eveything in goals. By half three they deserved a rest & all headed for home with a Mr. Freeze or bag of taytos in the gob !
The U9’s trained as normal as did the 10’s, who travel to Camp on Saturday for their end of season blitz from 10 – 1, text went out on Sunday with details.
