On Saturday the U6 and 7’s played Listowel Celtic in a few challenge matches on our astroturf with all our stars getting valuable playing time against a very good Celtic outfit. There were goals and saves a plenty (with Ethan stopping a spotkick) and cheers and even a few tears along the way. Well done to all the boys with Tomas, Paddy, Mark and Nathan among the goals.
The 8’s made the short journey to Listowel on Sunday morning to take on the boys from the banks of the Feale with an under-weather Sean Toumy playing a blinder in goals and Venus and Michael battling away in midfield. The numbers were down on normal as a bug had taken its toll on the squad but well done to the lads that travelled out and thanks to Celtic for the hospitality.
The 9’s trained on the all-weather with Dave S, Frankie and Dave M in preparation for games early in 2013.
Next Saturday the U10’s travel to Ballingarry in Limerick with a 1.30 K.O. A bus will leave at 11.45 and return around 5 o clock, texts will be going out during the week.
Well done to Tommy Knocka and the seniors on reaching the Munster League Champions Final last Saturday night, it wasn’t to be but the lads did the club proud and it was great to see so many Academy and Schoolboy players from the club supporting the boys in Limerick.
