Academy: over a 120 boys attended the Academy last Saturday & once again the sun shone down on us for both sessions. We had the full complement of coaches after the Kick-Start 1 course last week with each one bursting with new ideas on coaching. The first session saw the younger boys in great form with Ryan McMahon, Tomas Kennedy, Andrew Kerins & Ben McCannon showing some lovely touches at this tender age, while the under 8’s had Rory Clifford, Donnacha Sayers & Ewan O Sullivan in flying form.
The second session had Dan Robinson taking his last coaching session with the club with the U9’s. Dan is heading home to Portugal to continue his playing & coaching career & will be sadly missed by all at the club never mind the Academy. His happy nature endeared him to all the young boys each Saturday no matter which age he coached either Schoolboys or Academy. We wish Dan adeus & hopefully we will see him back at the Park in the not too distant future, maybe with a team from his own academy ! The 9’s will be travelling to Listowel Celtic next Saturday for a 2 o clock kick-off, texts going out during the week. Games on the way for the U10’s also.
