On Saturday last we welcomed Kingdom Boys to Christy Leahy Park to play them in the cup semi final.
This game was played at a high tempo with both teams giving their best effort from the starting whistle. We took control of the game early on with most of the play inside Kingdom Boys half of the pitch. Plenty of passing and movement by our players gave the impression we might get a result from this encounter. But as sport often goes we conceded 2 soft goals totally against the run of play that saw us behind at the half time mark.
At half time we dusted ourselves off and decided the game was still not over. All our boys again as in the first half took the game to Kingdom Boys and again we dominated the half but our first goal came late in the game when Brian scored a well taken strikers goal. With not much time on the clock we pushed hard to level the tie but it was not to be. Great credit must go to every Park player on the day for showing great heart and spirit, more so after the way we conceded both goals.
After the game it was great to see the both teams shaking hands and our boys congratulating Kingdom Boys on their win.
WELL DONE TO ALL. WE WILL SEE YE ALL SATURDAY FOR TRAINING.
