Goodbye Doyler
When the news filtered through at the start of the week that John Doyle was not well we were all saddened but when the word came this morning that Doyler had lost his greatest battle all at The Park were devastated. Yes, Doyler was an opponent but he was also a friend to all who met him. He was fiercely competitive on the field of play and how many times have we seen his roguish smile when he turned  the game in favour of Killarney Celtic, with what to us a bit of magic but to him it was no big deal – it was natural talent. His standing in the community was evident on Friday, 30th December, 2011 when three Killarney clubs joined forces in a fund raiser for him. But it was a unique trio of clubs, it was two soccer clubs, Killarney Celtic and Killarney Athletic and Spa GAA club that between them represented the vast community that wanted to help one of their own.
John Doyle, who was a friend to all in St. Brendan’s Park FC, will be sadly missed but our lives are better for having known him. To his wife Linda and daughter Ruth, his immediate family and his club mates at Killarney Celtic, with whom we will proudly walk with as we take this final journey,  we extend our deepest sympathies on their great loss.
Goodbye Doyler, may you now rest in peace.
