Castle Bar League Cup Semi-Final
We made it to yet another cup final after a win against Rattoo Rovers. This would have been a lot easier if we had taken our chances as we failed to convert over a dozen very scoreable chances.
We took the lead after three minutes thanks to a goal from Stephen o Sullivan. It was 2-0 after seven minutes when Fergal Maunsell finished a great move. However after this we went to sleep and let Rattoo back into the match conceding two sloppy goals in a fifteen minute spell.
The second half saw us in complete control and only for very poor finishing it would have been over as a contest very early on. However we needed to wait until the 75th minute to regain the lead when Pa McCarthy raced onto a Mark o Sullivan pass to tuck it past the advancing keeper. Fergal Maunsell rounded off the scoring in injury time to make it 4-2.
So it’s our 4th final of the season and once again it will be against Castleisland with the date and time to be confirmed.
