Killorglin FC 1-6 St Brendan’s Park A
We started our defence of the Greyhound Bar KO Cup today with an easy victory over Killorglin.
Anthony Murphy opened the scoring on his debut after 93 seconds. Killorglin then equalised in the 5th minute when a long free into the box saw Con Barrett being beaten in the air and the header looped into the far corner.
We then regained the lead in the 16th minute when Pa McCarthy finished from close range. In the 41st minute we were awarded a penalty for a handball on the line. Wayne Conway slotted the penalty home to give us a 3-1 lead at the break.
The second half was all one way traffic and we didn’t have to wait tong to score again. Anthony Murphy grabbed his second in the 48th minute after some good possession play in a very soft pitch.
We made three changes bringing on David Magee, David Doyle and Derek O’ Connor for his first appearance for us. Paudi Bailey made it 5-1 on the hour mark when his long range drive got a deflection and wrong footed the keeper.
Gary o Connor finished the scoring after a great run and finish in the 72nd minute.
Best for us on the day were Anthony Murphy, Gary O’ Connor, Wayne Conway and Paudi Bailey.
