Tommy Healy Cup 2nd Round
A very easy and comfortable win sees us into the 1/4 Final off the Tommy Healy Cup. After creating numerous chances we finally took the lead in the 20th minute after a great run and finish by Aaron Eager Moriarty. Five Minutes later it was 2-0 when after great work from Alan O’ Shea he set Aidan O’ Sullivan up to score from close range. Our defence looked in total control in the opening 45 with stand in keeper Richard O’ Brien and stand in center half Graham O’ Leary always alert to any danger.
Clanmaurice started the second half much the better team and made it 2-1 after 50 minutes. We settled quickly again to dominate the match. Alan O’ Shea made it 3-1 on the hour after a one-two with Tommy Naughton saw Alan calmly roll the ball past the keeper. Ten minutes later it was 4-1 when Tommy Naughton headed home from close range. Clanmaurice did manage to pull a goal back in the last minute. Best on the day were Greg Healy, Aaron Eager Moriarty, Graham O’ Leary and Richard O’ Brien.
