Tonight we got back into our league campaign after our long run in the Fai Junior Cup. Rattoo was always going to be a tricky affair but thankfully we came away with the three points.
David Clifford gave us an early lead when he finished home after a through ball from Shane Brosnan . However we gave away this lead after twenty minutes when some sloppy play around our own penalty area let Rattoo in for the equalizer . Fifteen minutes before half time David Clifford gave us the lead agin when he reacted quickest to finish from just inside the box. disappointingly it was level again with in three minutes which is how it stayed till half time .
The second half saw us dominate the game without ever getting the ball in the net . We were awarded a penalty for hand ball on the 55 minute mark and Rattoo were reduced to ten men . Adrian Quirke stepped up and saw his shot come back of the crossbar . Then with fifteen minutes remaining Ger Myles was introduced for his debut and with his very first touch he scored with a fine finish to the bottom corner . Ratoo were then reduced to nine men with ten minutes remaining when we were awarded another penalty which David Clifford finished for his hat trick . A valuable three points as we play catch up to the team above us in the league .
