On a pitch that was in perfect condition we controlled this game with some great passing movements . We got the perfect start after 4 minutes when Con Barrett headed home a Ryan Downy corner . From here on we controlled the match with Tommy Moriarty in goals having very little to do in the first half. It was two nil in the 33rd minute when Paudie Bailey finished home from close range . It was a fantastic first half with everyone working hard for each other and playing like a proper team .
The second half saw Broadford coming at us more since they were 2-0 down this was expected . However with some fantastic defending they never troubled our goal. With 20 minutes to go Tommy Moriarty made a fantastic save when it seemed a certain goal was inevitable . We introduced Aaron Eager , Mike Conway and Dan Robinson in the second half for Fiachra Dunne, Mark o Sullivan Fergal Maunsell and with their extra pace in seemed only a matter off time before we managed to get a third. It did eventually come in the 86th minute when Aaron Eager beat the off side trap to score his first Senior A goal.
This was a fantastic win and occasion for the club and thanks to everyone who showed up support us today. We are now away to Tile King off the Cork Business and Shipping league in the quarter final in the first week in october .
