Both teams must be applauded for making this a very competitive and entertaining final.The opening half was evenly contested with both sets of defenders giving nothing away. The breakthrough came on the 40th minute for Celtic as they hit Park on the counter attack from a Park FC corner with the Gman scoring from the rebound of the upright.
Park came out for the second half and started to dominate the game with David Rogers and Mark Sullivan winning the midfield battle and Fergal Maunsel & Mike Conway putting pressure on the Celtic defence. Park levelled with a break down the right by David Courtney he picked out Mike Conway whose shot was deflected into the net. Park captain Con Barrett again was the driving force behind his team but Park were punished for not taking at least one of the chances they created. Celtic grabbed the late winner from a set piece with Gman heading the winner for Celtic.
Some times the better team do lose. Well done to Celtic and best of luck to them in the next round.
