Today we hosted a fun blitz for the U11 age group in our club grounds at Christy Leahy Park. From early morning we had teams arriving from all parts of the county looking forward to plenty of soccer. Before the games started lots of photographs were taken and all visitors were welcomed by our club.
The games started before 12 o clock and it was non stop action for the next three hours. Each game was played at a high tempo with lots of exciting passages of play that added a lot of quality to matches.
In all we had 8 teams involved ( 2 Park teams, 2 Asdee teams, Kilorglin, Killarney Athletic, Kingdom Boys, and Listowel Celtic). All together there were over 100 players participating and judging from the look on their faces as they went home at 3 o clock they really did have a great FUN day.
Together with the 100 players there was lots of other traffic through the gates and the club gave out plenty of sandwiches drinks fruit and treats. As with all big sporting get-togethers people power is what makes these days great.
A big thanks must go to all that helped out, to all Park members doing their bit, to all visiting clubs, and also to the local business people that sponsored the food.
