We got our first win of the season against our neighbours on sat morning with a convincing 6-1 win.
Having started with 7 changes from our 1st game, We started the game at top speed and could have been a goal up inside 2 mins when martin laucher raced clear of the Boys defence and showed great composure to slide it past the keeper only to hit the post. But it only was 1 min later when the break through came , Graeme Sheehy slipped an inch perfect pass to the excellent jerome daly to slot home from close range. The second came when David Ischar who was man of the match broke up a quick counter attack and fed the ball to leon o shea who unleashed a ferocious shot straight into the top corner. 2-0 and looking very comfortable.
Kingdom Boys started to come more into the game and were awarded a peno and despite the best efforts of Sean Brodrick it was they scored 2-1. Straight from kick off we broke down and scored a great team goal finished off superbly by Jamie Fitzgerald and we forced home a quick 4th through gavin slattery .4-1 half time and well worthy of it.
The second half continued in the same vain and Cian Brosnan ,sean McGrath and david Ischar started to show there potential and began to dominate. Playing a quick passing game we stated to create chance after chance and scored 2 more goals from leon and gavin ‘slatts’. Slatts on another day would have had a hat trick but it wasn’t to be. It was an excellent team performance. Keep up the hard work in training and it will pay off in the games as it showed on Saturday morning.
