On a very wet Saturday afternoon we travelled to Killarney to play Celtic in the league. Although the weather did not play its part both teams certainly did.

The game started at a very high tempo and did not relent for the entire 60 minutes. Celtic had the upper hand for most of he first half aided by the elements. Only for the relentless pressure and defending from our players we would have conceded a few goals. In fairness to Celtic they have a lot of good players and one in particular Ryan was the reason they took the lead.

After they scored we attacked them again and again, this pressure gave us a great goal when JR broke down the right crossed a super ball that fell to Padraig who rocketed a great strike into the net.

The second half saw us lift our game another 20% as we took the game to Celtic, however credit to them they did not lie down . It took almost the entire half for a break through when again Padraig curled a great free kick around the wall and tucked it into the far bottom Conor.

Celtic did have a chance to win the game only for a really top draw save from our outstanding keeper Conor.

Comments coming from the parents after all agreed that this was a fantastic game of soccer. All agreed that the level of technical play added to the energy and commitment of all players was second to none.

The man of the match today was our keeper Conor, but ever player on our squad must take applause as they all excelled.

Thanks to the parents that travelled in the bad weather and help with the transport it is greatly appreciated.

Training Monday at 6:30 and Thursday at 7.
