Camp community ground was the venue for the shield semi-final clash between Camp and Park under 12 B. It was a lovely dry sunny morning with a bit of a breeze. The game got under way at 10.40 with park going into attack from the start. After 3 minutes a lovely ball down the left wing was taken up by Earnan Ferris who played his way towards the box and made a lovely cross to find Matt Healy who stuck the ball in the back of the net, 0-1 in the fourth minute. The first half was dominated by Park with some nice play down both wings, however the half time score remained 0-1.
Camp were more settled in the second half and put up a good performance with 50/50 possession by both teams. Half way during the second half Camp took over for a while and it looked as though they would equalise but Ryan Guerin and TJ Heaphy were strong in defence and kept it at 0-1. With 10 minutes to go the ball broke and was picked up by David (Tiny) Callaghan inside the Camp half of the pitch, he ran at goal and shot hitting the bar, the rebound came back to him and his second shot hit the post, that rebound which came back to him again was put away third time to make it 0-2. That goal killed off Camp and the game ended 0-2.
Park now go into the final against either Killarney or Killorglin.
Well done Park.
