We played College Corinthians last Saturday at 3pm in Christy Leahy Park, although we lost this game by 2 goals the managers were really pleased with the run out in that it was our first game of the season and the effort given by every player on our panel was super. Both their goals came in the first half when they were aided by a strong breeze but to be fair they deserved to score as they were making the most of the advantage.
The 2nd half was better for us when we went up a gear and pinned them back for the most of the half. We had a few chances to score and maybe if the sharpness was better we could have got a couple of goals. We had two new players playing for their 1st time in the club colours JR and Keevan and they settled very well and both gave a strong display. Craig played in a sweeper role and it was only his 2nd game playing in the first team but that didn’t bother him as he gave a man of the match display. As i said earlier all the players did very well and things look good for the coming season. Thanks to Kevin Cunningham for doing a good job as ref. We will train Wednesday at 5:15 t0 6:30.
