It was a dry morning at Park after a heavy night of rain which made conditions slippery for the game between Park under 13 B and Killorglin. The game got under way at 10.30 sharp. From the kick off Park went into attack and after only 3 minutes David (Tiny) Callaghan had a shot on goal which rebounded off the keeper and was slotted into the net by Matt Healy to give Park their opening goal. The game continued with Park attacking down both wings with some lovely link up play between Gavin Parker at left back and Danny Fisher on the left wing. In the twentieth minute Danny made a run tword goal and let fly a shot from outside the left of the penalty area and hit the back of the net with a lovely goal to the top corner. Half time finished 2-0.

Killorglin came out with a different attitude in the second half and pulled back a goal in the fourth minute, which was made easy by a collision between Parks keeper and right full back which left the keeper down in the goal mouth. Four minutes later nice play through midfield saw Matt Healy get the ball in the area, he laid it off for Tiny who took his chance and made it 3-1. However from the restart and just one minute after scoring, Killorglin scored a lovely goal.

Twenty minutes in good play on the right with Evan Foley linking up with Adam walker saw Tiny get the ball in the area and he made it 4-1 with his second goal. Two minutes later Adam himself made his way into the area and pulled off a lovely chip on the keeper to make it 5-2. Killorglin put up a good fight in the closing stages but some very good defending especially by Adam Sheehy saw to it that Killorglin wouldn’t score again. Final score Park 5 Killorglin 2. It was tough out there but a good game.

Well done to park who are now top of the table with 10 points.
