On Thursday evening our u13A team played Listowel Celtic in what was a very competitive cup semi final.
Great credit must go to both sets of players as this game was battled for in the best way possible, that is that soccer was the real winner.
Both teams played some very nice periods of soccer with possession maintained, and creative and imaginative scoring opportunities resulting from, patience and intelligent build up play.
Although chances were frequent only one goal was scored due to excellent and brave goalkeeping from both keepers.
The goal when it came was an end product from a great Park team move. The final pass was slipped through from Fergal to Sebastian, “Seb” not unlike a young Messi did the rest, skill, control, technique and class finished into the bottom corner of the net.
Listowel to their credit never gave up and tried hard all the way.
We saw a great team effort all over the field from keeper to strikers, there were a few looking for the man of the match award and deserving so,( poga, jordan, colin, jr, fergal, craig) however owing to in my opinion a complete performance Sebastian Vasiu earned the award. Bravery and skill were his contributions to win.
Next up are Killarney Celtic in a few weeks.
The u13 team and management would like to wish all the best of luck to all those that are involved in cup action in the coming week, U12s, u14s and a special mention to our u16s that are looking to create history next week in Dublin. “MON THE PARK”.
