Park 13A’s made the short trip to Tralee Dynamos on a Saturday morning that looked like being a very wet one but luckily the rain cleared and as it turned out the game was played in perfect conditions on a very good pitch .

First Half ,

The game started with Dynamos on top for the first 7 or eight minutes or so and we were grateful to Liam in goals for a very good save from a free kick that kept the score at 0-0 early on. Who knows how things would have turned out if we had gone behind at this stage. Even though we were under a good bit of pressure at the back early, there were glimpses of the threat that we carry going forward particularly when we got the ball wide on both sides of the pitch. We had created a couple of half chances before Messiah Chirwa buried a shot from the edge of the box that gave the Dynamo keeper absolutely no chance. From that moment on the result was in little doubt although we continued to be vulnerable to balls over the top or through the middle. In the main these were well handled by Jack and Kieran in the middle of the defence. After a nice through ball from Sean O’Connor, Colin beat his man and finished to the net to make it 2-0. It wasn’t long before it was 3-0 when after a jinking run in the box Colin finished to the corner of the net. It was 4-0 when after a nice ball from Josh, Cianan cut in from the left, beat his man and finished expertly to the corner of the net. At this stage Park were completely dominating affairs and it wasn’t long before Cianan had his second, again cutting in from the left to leave the score line at 5-0. There was just time left in the first half for Colin to complete his hat-trick after lovely footwork on a run in from the right side. 6-0 and a great return from the three starting forwards. The midfield anchored by Conor and flanked by Sean O’Connor and Josh had really grown into the game and the full-backs, Sean O’Connell and Ben along with the centre half’s had started to get to grips with Dynamos playing 2 up top which had caused us problems early.

Second Half ,

Danny and David had come into the midfield towards the end of the first half while Samuel had come in to defence and Adam Wharton into the forward line. Testament to the lads, the attitude continued to be spot on even though the scoreline was well in our favour. Credit also to Dynamos as they never stopped trying in a game that was played in the right spirit. Early in the second half David Feely made it seven with a really good finish after picking the ball up just outside the box. Not long afterwards Dynamos were awarded a free kick outside the box which was finished expertly to the top corner giving Liam in goal no chance. This goal didn’t deter the lads and we went on to finish the half very strongly with Cianan deservedly getting his hat trick goal and then Adam getting his goal, again with a lovely finish. There was just time for one more when Sean O’Connor got up from being fouled for a penalty to make it 10 and finish the scoring on the day.

Well done to all the lads on the day. Speedy recovery to Sean Hill who got injured in the warm-up.
