This was definitely a game of 2 halves for the Park lads on their first outing of the New Year with the weather a contributing factor. The Park started off in the 1st half as they finished in 2012 and although there were signs of rustiness from the Xmas break they dominated possession through their slick passing and moving game, the 2nd half was a different story as weather conditions changed to suit their opponents.

1st Half

The park lads pressurised from the start, controlling possession to great effect and 3 mins in they were 1-0 up from a goal mouth scramble from a well delivered corner by Fitzy which was duly dispatched by Conor lowe who smashed the ball into the Camp net.

The Park were controlling the game with the lions share of possession, creating some decent chances from Dylan, Kiwi and Gearoid. 20 mins into the game and fine passing move from Kiwi to Dylan who laid the ball off  to Gearoid to slide the ball past the Camp keeper to make it 2-0, 5 mins later Dylan headed the ball home from a fine corner from minors to make it 3-0. The park lads had their tails up and it looked like a goal fest was brewing.

2nd Half

Weather conditions changed at half time with rain and a strong wind favouring the Camp lads they started to come back into the game with the Park having to defend strongly. The park lads did create a few good chances with Deano firing a volley just past the post and Conor shaving the bar with a great header. Cian was unluckly not to get his 1st goal for the Park with a fine save by the camp keeper and should have been awarded a penalty when he was brought down in the box after great move to create a scoring chance. Camp were resilient and fair play to them they did not down without a fight and tried hard to get something fro the game and with 10 mins to go they were rewarded for their efforts with a goal from a corner which was poorly dealt with by the park defence. This was the tonic the park lads needed to fire them up to finish strongly with a couple of chances of their own.
