This was going to be a tough assignment for the lads away from home with their opponents winning 4 from 5 of their last league games.
1st Half
The park lads started at a reasonable pace but with no game for four weeks there were signs of ring rust. The game was fairly even with a few half chances by both teams. Unfortunately 14 mins in and Celtic were 1 -o up with a fine finish past Eoghan. This was the tonic the park needed and they started to take control and pushed forward for the equaliser and 20 mins in a cross from Dave into Dylan in centre forward, who showed grat control and slotted the ball to the right of the Celtic keeper, 1-1 and it was game on!
The Park were putting the home team under pressure and with Minors swinging in great corner kicks it was only a matter of time before another goal was on the cards and dit duly came from a corner kick which was cleared out to Alan outside the box, with one of the sweetest strikes he hit the top left hand corner past the out stretched Celtic keeper, 2-1 with 5 mins to go to the break, the Celtic lads were still posing a treat with a few good chances of their own, Eoghan having to pull off a couple of fine saves.
2nd Half
With a strong wind at their backs the Park dominated from the whistle, with Minors the main playmaker at midfield and Dylan orchestrating things upfront. Cian was switched to left mid when Gearoid came on and things started to happen, Cian was making great runs on the left and was unluck to be blown for offside on a couple of occasions when he was clear through on goal.
It was only a matter of time before Cian timed his run to perfection, Dylan took the ball from midfield taking on three defenders to place a pin point pass to Gearoid who picked out Cian who had beaten the offside trap and volley into the roof of the net, 3-1 up and it was all Park, Deano came on and nearly picked up another goal with a cheeky chip that just grazed the bar, Cian had another couple of half chances before the final whistle. Maciek made his debut for the team and came on for Eoghan in goals and although he had liitle to do, he done it well.
A tough game in which we dominated the second half and ground out a good result.
