This was the Park U14’s third friendly in so many weeks in preparation prior to

the league commencing next weekend. This weekend the park lads took on a

strong Camp side on their home turf.

The 1st Half saw the home team get out of the blocks quickly and within 5

minutes they were one nil up. The park lads were slow to get into the game as

they struggled to get to grip with the slow pace of the ball, but as the game

progressed they grew into the game, dominating in all departments and were

solid in defence. On the 20 minute mark they were rewarded for their great

play out of defence with a superb strike from Gearoid on the right.

This was the tonic thelads needed and they switched up a gear and gained in

confidence on the ball.

With goals from David, Tom, Cian, Dylan and Conor saw the Park lads go into

Half time break in a commanding 6 – 1 lead.

The 2nd half and the lads continued as they did in the 1 st half and they passed

the ball from defence up through the midfield and into the forward line with

great confidence, David and Alan added a couple more in the early part of the

half to make it 8-1. Camp hit back with a couple of goals themselves to make it

8-3 with 10 minutes left on the clock. The park hit back to make it 9 and with

the match closed out they seemed to lose concentration with camp finishing the

stronger and scoring a consolation goal from a spot kick in the dying minutes.

The park lads showed that they are improving with every game with a fine

display of passing and movement from defence to attack.

A great confidence booster for the Park lads before the new season.
