It wasn’t a good day for the game, the wind was coming from every part of the pitch.
Both teams started of passing the ball up and down the field but the wind kept blowing the ball too fast and soccer was being played up and down the field. Good chances by both sides and some excellent saves from both keeper’s. Park were missing players through sickness.
Eventually Joe kicked the ball out to Josh who then passed through to Samson who took on the Killorglin defence broke through and hammered the ball home 1-0. after about 10 mins Killorglin equalized with a great shot but was to high for Joe 1-1. Half time 1-1.
We went out hungry to win the second half and so was Killorglin, again chances from both sides but second half remained scoreless. Full time 1-1.
Extra time was the same as the second half, both teams a bit tired but battled on. Goalless.
Penalty shoot out. Park won on penalties 4-3. Penalties were taken by Mark who scored,Daniel went wide,Brian was on target but the keeper saved,Samson who had a lightening shot left hand corner,Josh with a nicely placed shot but the keeper could not reach enough and the golden goal was taken by Tennerson who had a great striking shot to the middle top of the net. Joe made a couple of great saves too get us through to the next round.
