The Park Under 14 A’s made it three league wins from three on Saturday morning. Fears of fog gave way to perfect conditions on a crisp, bright day, ideal for football.

As has been the case in recent matches, the lads started in positive fashion, playing with confidence and moving the ball well. Killarney Celtic however, were well organised and competitive, making this an enjoyable match for the spectator.

The Park’s opening positivity was rewarded when on the 17th minute Earnan Ferris playing on the right wing, found John O’Connor in space, who swept a glorious strike high to the right hand corner of the goals, giving the goalkeeper no chance. The remainder of the half saw the Park continue to press, with many sweeping moves, starting with goalkeeper, Sean Broderick, through an excellent back four of Sean Kedzierski, Alan Brosnan, Jamie Fitzgerald and Adam Sheehy. Sean McGrath capably deputising for Adam midway through the first half. The midfield of Jack Twamley and Leon Gallagher were superbly supporting the attacking talents of Earnan Ferris, John O’Connor and Cian Brosnan, with Tomas O’Sullivan leading the line well at centre forward.

HT. Killarney Celtic A 0, Park A 1.

Daragh Caplis was introduced at half time and the Park team played at an even higher tempo, with wave after wave of attacks. Celtic though were proving resolute and causing problems on the counter attack, keeping the Park back four on their toes. 20 minutes into the 2nd half the win was effectively sealed when Leon Gallagher struck a tremendous free kick high the left hand corner of the net. Ryan Guerin, Robert Vasiu and Darragh Walsh were all introduced during the second half contributing to an excellent team performance.

Celtic kept going however, and were awarded a penalty in the last minute. The penalty was excellently converted leaving the final score, Killarney Celtic A 1, Park A 2.
