The 16’s moved easily into the next round of the cup. Paudie Griffin opened the scoring with a fairly tame shot which trickled over the line . Then came the strangest goal of the season when Jack Carmody kicked a long ball out of his hands that took one bounce over the Castleisland keeper . Not a style of play encouraged by the management team but hard to argue with the result on this occasion.
A great ball from Sean Fitzmaurice to Ferdia O Brien led to 3-0 and a further goal from Paudie Griffin gave us a 4-0 lead at half time .The second half saw Paddy Collins score twice , Shane McLoughlin against his home town netted along with James Duggan , Colin Griffin and a cracker from Ferdia O Brien completing the scorers.
