In testing conditions that had us missing 7 players including our keeper it was a good result. We started the game with decent possession but didn’t really do anything with it.After 20mins that changed however when the ball was passed back to Jesse Stafford Lacey he hit the ball 1st time from about 25 yards and the ball nestled in the corner. We continued to play our football with some nice spells of possession but it wasn’t until 5 minutes from half time when Stefan received the ball on the right wing laid the ball to Jesse who beat the players before getting his cross in and it found Stefan who continued his run to tap home from 5 yards.

But as half time approached we switched off when we lost the ball in midfield and a ball over the top found a Mastergeeha striker who finished from 10 yards past stand in keeper Ferdia O’Brien although it did look as if the striker was offside. Ferdia came to our rescue just before halftime with a great point blank save at the back post.

The second half started much the same as the 1st but with a strong wind behind them Mastergeeha were pumping the ball forward any chance they could. We stayed calm and forced a succession of corners and it paid off a fine delivery from Jesse once again found the head of Fergal Ryan who found the net from close range. As we pressed to kill the game off a long ball 1 of the many Mastergeeha sent forward caught us out and the striker made no mistake from 10 yards. With 20mins left we kept good possession and created 1 or 2 half chances to seal our victory and our progression through to the next round.
