A very accomplished performance from the 17’s saw us advance in to the next round of the FAI Cup . James Duggan opened the scoring with a tremendous turn and strike from outside the area after  10 minutes . Goals two and three followed shortly when first a Jesse Stafford -Lacey corner avoided everyone and found its way into the net and soon after the same players delivery found Sean Kelliher who powered home a fine header . James Duggan made it 5-0 before half time with a penalty and a neat finish after good work from Luke Moynihan .

Dwyer Tobin came on at half time and acquitted himself very well . The second 45 saw the lads control the game , Ferdia O’ Brien and Paddy Collins took charge in the middle of the park allowing Sean Dukes and Jamie Clifford to get forward very well from wide areas . Segun Duyile looked very comfortable at centre-half . Shannon were awarded a penalty following a rare mis-timed tackle from Sean Kelliher and despite a valiant effort from Jack Carmody they converted the spot kick .

Ryan Dolan , making an impressive return from injury made the score 6-1 when he broke through the Shannon defence and rolled the ball past the keeper .

Overall , a highly satisfying performance with some outstanding passages of play .
