Killarney Celtic 4 v 2 Park FC
This was one of the best games of the season with both teams in top form and both with 100% records on the line in the league. Park were the dominant team in the first half and if they converted the chances they created the game could have been over at half time. The post saved Celtic on four occasions in the first half with Celtic relying mostly on the counter attack. In the thirty third minute they broke down the right and the cross found Celtic’s striker free and he side footed low under the Park keeper to put them 1-0 up at the break.
Early in the second half, Park’s right back made a cardinal error dribbling across his own box only to lose it to the Celtic striker who then fired Celtic into a two goal lead.
Park were now chasing the game but Celtic to their credit held their shape and struck two more goals on the break. With twenty minutes remaining Park went three at the back and three up front and Park’s strikers Jesse Sullivan and Adam Rourke gave us a life line scoring one apiece. There was still ten minutes to go and the Park threw everything at Celtic but were once again denied by the post and outstanding defending from Celtic.
Best for Park: Cian Sheridan, Roman Laucher, Adam Rourke and Jack Short
Park FC 4 v 1 Tralee Dynamos
This local derby failed to live up to its billing with Park dominant through out the game. Park went in front on twelve minutes with a twenty yard strike from Con Hewson and on thirty minutes he added his second from twelve yards. Park’s Adam O’Rourke put park three up at the break with a half volley from eighteen yards. Park made there changes at half time to give players a rest and it was Dynamos who struck next from a thirty yard free.
This woke Park up and they started to control the game and it was Conor Jordan that got our fourth as he started the move in midfield passing the ball wide before getting on the end of the cross to head home.
Best for Park: Conor Jordan, Con Hewson, Fionn Coakley and Ryan Carroll
