St Brendan’s Park u8s were in Listowel on Sunday afternoon to take part in a blitz. It was great to see us travel in huge numbers with more than 30 players allowing us to enter 3 u8 teams in the blitz. We also entered one team in an under 9 competition made up mainly of u8 players with a little help from Patrick, Ademola, Cody, Tadgh and Brian from our u9s who came in to help at short notice.
Listowel Celtic, Camp Juniors and Fenit provided the opposition and each club is clearly blessed with very dedicated and talented boys and girls. We had victories, hard fought draws and a few defeats but the players played with great skill and heart. They represented the Park Academy with pride.
Thanks to the parents that travelled to Listowel and especially for helping to transport other players. We need the support of the parents to ensure we can continue to carry so many players to these great events in the future.
Listowel Celtic were fantastic hosts, their playing pitches and facilities are a credit to their club. Refreshments were provided on the day which was a great touch. Thanks to Paddy Lynch and co for inviting the Park FC to participate.
