Fai Youth Cuo 2nd Round

Killarney Celtic 1 v 2 Park FC

This cup encounter was Parks toughest test of the season so far with both sides leaving it all on the pitch that saw Park advance to the third round with another away fixture v Listowel Celtic.
Park management need and must solve their slow starts to games and conceding early goals as they found themselves trailing after only eight minutes .The game was played at a high intensity with Park more creative but guilty of not punishing Celtic with Jordan Barry ,Conor O’Brien and Aaron Ward failing to convert some golden chances.
It was Parks captain Adam Ward in the thirty fifth minute that burst into the Celtic area and was tripped ,ref pointed to the penalty spot and it was Adam that converted the spot kick sending the Killarney keeper the wrong way , all level at the break.
Killarney started the opening ten minutes of the second half strongly pushing the Park back and winning four corners in a row but Parks defense stood strong and when you have Conor Hayes the best youth keeper in the county between the posts putting in a man of the match performance this instills confidence in his team.
Parks midfield duo Adam Ward and James Sheehan started to get a hold on midfield and Park took the lead in seventy fifth minute when David Oba down the right side of midfield found Parks striker Conor O’Brien with a defense splitting pass clinically finishing thru the legs of the advancing keeper.
The final ten minutes saw Park defend stalwartly from a Celtic side pressing for an equalizer and again it was Parks custodian Conor Hayes making a top class save at full stretch tipping the ball around the post for a corner in added time to see Park thru to the third round.
