The scoreline might suggest that Castleview had a comfortable win but this was far from the truth . Our lads put up a great performance in Turners Cross tonight and were unlucky not to go through.

After a shaky first ten minutes we got to grips of the game and began to control possession with Greg Horan and Ryan Carroll taking control in the middle of the pitch . the first shot in anger came when Greg fire low from twenty yards only for the Castleview keeper to save well at his near post . Then Ivan Parkers shot was well saved as we now seemed to be well in control . However on the half hour mark we went behind against the run of play when some hesitancy in defence saw Castleview pounce for the lead . Three minutes later they were awarded a penalty for hand ball which was slotted home for a 2-0 lead to the Cork side . Jesse o Sullivan came close just before half time but his left foot volley went the wrong side of the far post .

The second half showed the heart and courage this team has , while others would have dropped their heads they kept going till the end . The back four pushed higher up the pitch and we began to get at their defence a lot more . Sean Ryan was introduced after fifty minutes and now with Adam o Rourke on the wings they began to cause trouble with their pace . On the hour mark we pulled one back when Greg Horan headed home from a great cross . For the remainder of the game it was all Park but the equalizer never came . Castleview then wrapped up the game in the 93rd minute when they broke on the counter attack and finished with a super strike to the top corner .

Although the team is disappointed at losing they should hold their heads high for getting this far . They were a credit to themselves , the Club and County for their performance tonight and no doubt they will be back again with seven players underage next season again .
